Coastal Mountains Land Trust has two new additions to its team, Stewardship Project Manager Hale Morrell and Land Protection Projects Coordinator John Gioia.

Morrell joined the team at the end of October as the new Stewardship Project Manager for the greater Belfast area. A graduate of both Yale School of Forestry and College of the Atlantic, she has worked with Maine Coast Heritage Trust, West Virginia Land Trust, and most recently with Acadia National Park as a biological science technician.

Gioia joined the land trust in January. Originally from Massachusetts, he moved from Colorado to Lincolnville with his fiancée in 2016. Gioia received his master’s in environmental management from Western State Colorado University, where he studied integrative land management and climate change vulnerability. His passion for environmental conservation has grown since his early days exploring Maine’s woods and waters while at summer camp in East Orland. Currently employed part-time with Coastal Mountains Land Trust, Gioia also manages a small organic produce farm near Lincolnville Beach.
