Portland Museum of Art (PMA) has selected Nat May, former executive director of SPACE Gallery in Portland, as guest curator for the PMA 2018 Biennial, which brings together a wide range of work by living artists with connections to Maine. May, a native of Cape Elizabeth, has served as a board member at Creative Portland and Portland Arts and Culture Alliance; was a founding member of Common Field, a nationwide network of contemporary, experimental and noncommercial visual art spaces; and is a founding board member of Hewnoaks Artist Colony in Lovell, Maine. For the 2018 Biennial, which will open on January 26, 2018, May will spend nearly a year visiting artist studios. For more information, visit portlandmuseum.org.
