Sweet Tree Arts, 4 Church Street in Hope, will hold its fifth annual Story Slam on Friday, March 24. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; desserts and coffee will be available, and the stories start at 7:00. Shlomit Auciello, Sydney Hall, Don Kleiner, Rob Pfeiffer and Meghan Vigeant will each have five minutes to tell a personal story on the theme “Change.” The yarns will include working in the Maine outdoors, an airport drama, and “a story about candy and kale.” Lindsay Pinchbeck will host and, between guest storytellers, share short folk tales on the theme from around the world. Tickets are $12 in advance, at www.sweettreearts.org, $15 at the door. Sweet Tree Arts is a registered nonprofit; the Slam contributes to its scholarship fund and supports summer community programming. Note that stories may contain adult content.
Hannah Billington tells her story at last year’s Slam.
