Greek Cooking, Bread Baking with Lincoln County Adult Ed

Central Lincoln County Adult Education will be offering one-night classes on the cuisine of Greece and basic baking, both at Nobleboro Central School.
“Greek Cuisine Night,” led by Debra Arter, will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21. Students will prepare Greek Lemon Soup, Spanakopita (spinach triangles) and Amygdalota (Greek almond cookies). Bring an apron and a sealable plastic container to take home samples. Recipes will be provided. Class cost is $29, with materials fee of $10 payable to instructor on night of class.
“In the Know — In the Dough!,” for bakers at all levels, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28. Deb Arter, whose breads have won blue ribbons at the Union Fair, will cover how to mix, knead, proof and shape yeast dough. Participants will learn how to create cloverleaf rolls, butter crescents, cinnamon swirls, tea rings and whole-wheat rolls, as well as loaves of bread. Recipes will be shared, and each student will go home with warm samples. Bring an apron, rolling pin, cutting board and plastic tub for samples. Class cost is $24 for online registrations received by March 21, $29 for all others. An $8 materials fee is payable to instructor on night of class.
