Maine’s Outdoor Learning Center (MOLC) is marking its 20th year of offering a Registered Maine Guide Training Program. The program, designed to fully prepare students to be ready to lead others through the woods and waters of Maine as a business, focuses on licenses — Recreation, Fishing, Hunting and Specialized Tidewater. There is the choice of a week-long hands-on course or four-day training in an academic setting. MOLC is based in Lincoln-ville and offers training throughout the state.

Over the years, MOLC, owned by Capt. John and Tami Rogers, has added workshops and weekend classes including Land Navigation; Map & Compass/GPS; a Wilderness First Aid/CPR weekend, taught in the woods; River Rescue; Paddling and Poling Techniques, a full day on the river; a Wilderness Skill Building weekend; and Gold Panning.
