Senator Angus King ignored the message and deplored the messenger in the case of Ed Snowden, whom he labeled a traitor. But today he ignores the messenger and embraces the message in the case of Trump’s/Flynn’s “Russia Files.”

Could it be, at root, that Senator King cheers the surveillance state, protects its unlawful excesses from public scrutiny (via Snowden’s leaks), and embraces its non-democratic, “soft coup” capability?

I’d wish for a more principled, less dangerous, stance from our avuncular and independent Senator.
